How to Be a Contagious Christian

A 4-part series – A part of living out a Missional Life-Style in our community means developing Authentic Relationships with others, and sharing the Good News of Jesus in the sphere of influence where God has placed us – in our neighbourhoods, at work, at school, etc. However, God never intended for us to share His Good News in a way that doesn’t reflect who He made us to be. In this series we’ll look at six different people in the Bible, each of whom used a different way to point people to Jesus.

    • The Seamstress (Luke 15 & Acts 9:32-43) – This sermon sets the stage for the whole series by examining the reality that because lost people matter to God, they should matter to us to. We will then meet the first of 6 Contagious Christians from the Bible: Dorcas, a seamstress who used a SERVICE lifestyle to point others to Jesus.

    • The Homemaker and the Revenue Agent (John 4:27-30, Luke 5:27-32) – In this sermon we meet two other contagious Christians from the Bible: the woman at the well in John 4 who used an INVITATIONAL lifestyle; and Matthew, the tax collector who used a RELATIONAL lifestyle to introduce others to Jesus.

    • The Blind Man and the Small Business Man/Missionary (John 9:1-41, Acts 17:16:34) – We meet our fourth and fifth contagious Christians during this sermon: the Blind Man in John 9 who used a TESTIMONIAL lifestyle; and the apostle Paul who used an INTELLECTUAL lifestyle to interact with other about Jesus.

    • The Blue-Collar Worker (Acts 2:1-41) – In the final sermon from this series we meet our 6th contagious Christian; the apostle Peter, who used a CONFRONTATIONAL lifestyle to point people to Jesus. We will then conclude the series with a final challenge by looking at the benefits and the costs of becoming a Contagious Christian, along with the commitments we need to make as a Church Family.
